Full Job Description

Wowza Media Systems, a global leader in mission-critical video streaming solutions, is seeking a Commercial Sales Manager to take ownership of our mid-market sales efforts. Reporting directly to the CRO, this is a high-visibility role with immense career growth opportunities. You’ll play a pivotal role in driving a velocity-based sales motion, managing a high-performing team, and achieving exceptional results. 

With a market-leading product, highly satisfied customers, and strong retention rates, Wowza is primed for growth—and we’re looking for a hands-on leader to drive our next phase of success. 

This person must be located in the Denver metro area and be able to be on-site.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Own the Sales Process: Manage the full sales pipeline, from pipeline generation to late-stage deal closure, ensuring a consistent velocity sales motion with deal sizes ranging from $50K to $150K. 
  • Hit and Exceed Numbers: Achieve and surpass revenue targets, leveraging data-driven strategies and coaching to optimize team performance. 
  • Lead with Data-Driven Coaching: Utilize CRM and revenue intelligence platforms to analyze performance metrics and provide actionable, data-driven feedback to your team. 
  • Hands-On Pipeline Management: Actively oversee all stages of the sales pipeline, from early-stage leads to nurture programs and late-stage deal negotiation. 
  • Deliver Effective Demos: Conduct high-quality, consultative demos that resonate with customers, particularly developers and technical stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with marketing, product, and customer success teams to optimize lead quality and enhance the customer journey. 
  • Build and Coach a High-Performing Team: Provide hands-on sales coaching and guidance, helping your team develop the skills needed to thrive in a velocity sales environment. 
  • Leverage High-Quality Leads: Capitalize on a steady stream of highly qualified inbound leads (50%+ of pipeline) to drive revenue growth. 
  • Understand Consultative Selling: Adopt a consultative approach to selling, with a deep understanding of the developer audience and their unique needs. 
  • Optimize the Sales Cycle: Manage a fast-moving sales process, with an average sales cycle of 65 days, ensuring efficiency and consistency across all stages. 

 

Requirements

About You:

  • Proven Sales Leadership: 5+ years of experience in sales, including 2+ years in a leadership role, with a proven track record of hitting and exceeding revenue targets. 
  • Hands-On Approach: Comfortable rolling up your sleeves to manage the pipeline, set up demos, and provide hands-on coaching to your team. 
  • Data-Driven Mindset: Strong experience with CRM tools and revenue intelligence platforms to analyze pipeline health and optimize team performance. 
  • Velocity Sales Expertise: Demonstrated success managing fast-moving sales cycles with deal sizes ranging from $50K to $150K. 
  • Sales Coaching Skills: Experience coaching and mentoring sales professionals, with a focus on consultative selling and technical audiences. 
  • Market and Product Knowledge: Familiarity with selling to developers and technical stakeholders, leveraging Wowza’s market fit and customer satisfaction as key differentiators. 
  • Strategic Pipeline Management: Expertise in managing all stages of the pipeline, from early-stage pipeline creation to late-stage deal closure, including nurture strategies. 
  • Customer-Centric Approach: A commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences, supported by Wowza’s high satisfaction and retention rates. 

Benefits

Compensation Package: $200,000-250,000 OTE

(Base salary & variable comp potential)

The range represents the anticipated low and high end of our compensation package range for this position. Actual salaries and benefits will vary and will be based on a range of factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and location. The compensation package is one component of our total compensation package for employees.
