Full Job Description
Parallel Employment is currently seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team at our client's facility. As a Corrugated Case Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining corrugated case machines to produce high-quality packaging products. This is a full-time position located at our client's facility in the Kenosha / Pleasant Prairie area.
- Enter into computer & retrieve from computer all necessary data pertaining to cases and jobs.
- Complete time and production reports, checklists.
- Feed corrugated Z fold sheets into the corrugated case making machine.
- Visually inspect cases to ensure adherence to job specifications and structural quality standards.
- Clear jams in the corrugated case machine.
- Monitor glue levels in auto gluer and add hot melt pellets as needed.
- Monitor information on case labels to ensure accurate labeling.
- Consult Finishing Dept. production schedules frequently; determine type and number of cases to be used. Check for case availability; in the event of shortages, create alternative cases.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks on corrugated case maker, including replacing cutting blades, checking sensors and adjusting loose wires.
- Print corrugated case pallet labels, case pack cards, issue requests, work instructions.
- Use hand-held scanner to scan corrugated case pallet labels, load tags and reference labels.
- Check & verify accuracy of case totals against pallet labels and finishing department production reports.
- Transport cases from the manufacturing floor to the warehouse area, scan and place in proper warehouse bays.
- Transport corrugated sheet waste and place in shredder.
- Transfer cases from machine onto pallets - stage or store pallets in the warehouse racks
- Adhere to all Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations including addition, subtraction, and multiplication of whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Calculate fractions and decimals.
- Ability to read and understand information on job jacket.
- Organizational skills.
- Ability to take and record precise metric and non-metric measurements using a ruler.
- Ability to operate a hand-held calculator.
- Ability/Certification to operate a powered industrial truck.
- Ability to operate computer, enter and retrieve data.
- Attention to detail & accuracy.
- A high degree of self-motivation and initiative.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Be dependable, on time to work and at work consistently, regular and overtime hours.
- Ability to operate a Standup Forklift
