Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Tool Technician Lead to take charge of tool management, maintenance, and optimization efforts in support of large-scale project builds. This hands-on role involves ensuring tools and equipment are operational, properly maintained, and available to meet project timelines. As the lead, you will be the go-to resource for technical expertise and coordination but will not oversee other technicians. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in tool repair and maintenance, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a project team.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all tool-related needs across project sites.
- Manage the inventory, tracking, and allocation of tools and equipment, ensuring proper documentation and accountability.
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on tools and equipment to ensure minimal downtime.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Inventory teams to forecast tool requirements and align with project schedules.
- Implement and maintain preventative maintenance schedules to maximize tool reliability and lifespan.
- Conduct regular tool inspections to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with tools and equipment quickly and effectively.
- Maintain detailed records of tool maintenance, repairs, and usage trends.
- Identify opportunities to optimize tool performance and recommend improvements.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in tool maintenance, repair, or a similar technical role.
- Strong technical knowledge of tools, machinery, and maintenance procedures.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving tool-related issues.
- Familiarity with inventory tracking and management systems is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a focus on attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with project teams in fast-paced environments.
- Commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or trade school training is a plus.
