Acentra is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our growing team.
Position Overview:
Are you passionate about driving innovation and optimizing cloud operations? As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in a dynamic and collaborative DevOps team, working to streamline processes and enhance efficiency. You’ll work closely with development, QA, and support teams to manage operations, deployments, and CI/CD tasks, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
This position reports directly to the DevOps Manager or Operations Manager and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on high-volume healthcare data systems. These systems, accessed through multiple web portals, support critical services for healthcare clients. Operating across multiple data centers, this high-availability system requires your expertise to maintain 24/7/365 reliability for users.

Job Responsibilities:
- Functions as an individual contributor and works under minimal supervision of a team lead.
- Demonstrates working expertise in AWS services, including EC2, NLB, ELB, ECS, Elastic Cache, ALB, S3, RDS, EBS volumes, AWS Redshift, DMS, EKS, and AWS Glue.
- Applies knowledge of Kubernetes and Helm for container orchestration and management.
- Utilizes Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools, such as CloudFormation Templates (CFT), Terraform, and Ansible, to automate infrastructure provisioning.
- Understands and works effectively within Microservices architecture to support scalable solutions.
- Collaborates with the project DevOps Lead to develop, implement, and maintain DevOps processes, tools, and best practices.
- Implements and enforces best practices for Pipeline as Code, Infrastructure as Code, and Configuration as Code methodologies.
- Prepares and maintains comprehensive work instructions for source control management tools, including SVN, Git, and GitHub, tailored to current and future project needs.
- Demonstrates proficiency in scripting languages, such as Python, Groovy, and Bash, to enhance automation and operational efficiency.
- Develops and refines best practices for software builds, revision management, and release processes in collaboration with team members and based on input from the team lead/manager.
- Sets up, maintains, and manages CI/CD pipelines (preferably using Jenkins) to automate deployments, while performing code reviews for junior DevOps Engineers.
- Exhibits in-depth knowledge of DevOps tools and platforms, Linux, AWS, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, JFrog Artifactory, and SONAR or similar code scanning tools.
- Designs and implements software packaging and installation scripts using Docker and Ansible.
- Enables continuous feedback loops within pipelines by understanding and integrating various types of automated software testing.
- Actively participates in continuous process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance operational workflows.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with 6–8 years of relevant work experience, or a Master’s degree with 4–6 years of relevant work experience.
- Preferred majors include Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- At least 4 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer on medium to large-scale projects.
- Proficiency in JIRA and Confluence for workflow management and team collaboration.
- Extensive knowledge of DevOps tools such as Linux, AWS, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, JFrog Artifactory, and SONAR (or similar code scanning tools).
- Hands-on experience with version control tools like Subversion and Git, as well as security scanning tools such as Fortify.
- Familiarity with MS Office tools, J2EE, and RDBMS concepts for efficient database management.
- Working knowledge of scripting and automation tools, including Perl, shell scripting, Ant/Maven/Gradle, Java, and Makefiles.
Additional Qualifications (Nice to Have):
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and/or the AWS Cloud environment.
- AWS Certification is highly preferred.
- Advanced scripting expertise in at least one programming language, such as Python, Bash, or Groovy.
- Proficiency in Linux with advanced system administration skills.
- Application Server Administration experience, particularly with WebSphere and/or WebLogic.
- Cloud expertise, including experience working in Azure environments.

Compensation
The compensation for this role is $97,560.00 - $120,000.00 per year.
Based on our compensation program, an applicant’s position placement in the pay range will depend on various considerations, such as years of applicable experience and skill level.
