Make a real impact on the Department of Veterans Affairs-End User Operations and Monitoring (ESOM)! We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior SharePoint Developer to join our team in supporting the VA ESOM Business Operations. In this critical role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining innovative SharePoint solutions that streamline knowledge management, enhance collaboration, and drive efficiency within the department. You will play a key role in modernizing our SharePoint environment, migrating existing sites to newer versions, and developing custom workflows and applications to meet the unique needs of our users.
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance/sustainment of existing, creation (design, development, testing, implementation) and administration of new client SharePoint solutions, sites and subsites, lists, libraries, web parts, and content (including pages, workflows, and items)
- Develop custom workflows using SharePoint Designer and / or SharePoint Online.
- Develop and manage master pages and other reusable SharePoint components
- Provide advice, end-user support and training on any knowledge management items relating to permissions, site ownership, document management, forms, and workflows, etc.
- Work with end users and management to define, develop and test solutions to resolve issues and requests. Clearly document and communicate the analysis of any problems and the solutions used to resolve them.
- Participate in the analysis to design enhancements including technical approaches to deliver future capabilities. Investigate, promote and implement methods to improve knowledge availability, reliability and performance through best practices.
- Ensure compliance through regular assessments, agency privacy and security policies, regulations, standard operating procedure, archiving and generate audit reports
- Enable interoperability and sharing of information with other agency components
- Develop and maintain training curriculums for users including agency employees, contractors.
Location: This position can be performed remotely and will support Eastern Time working hours.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required. (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.)
- 8 years of experience with Knowledge Management / Enterprise Content Management (e.g. SharePoint, websites) including analysis, design, development, and deployment support for repository requirements, auditing, reliability and performance improvements; capacity planning, high availability solutions and implementation / upgrade / migration support.
- 5+ years of expert level Business Analysis skills and solution concepts
- Experience implementing solutions with Power Automate / Power Apps / Power BI / Visual Development and MS or other Data Lake structured sources.
- Experience with MS Office 365 environment (Notepad/Teams/SharePoint, etc.) and migrating existing SharePoint Site collections to newer versions.
- Must have hands on experience using SharePoint Designer to maintain and develop complex custom workflows. Must have experience implementing JavaScript, CSS, HTML jQuery, and API services to enhance usability and performance
- Experience in providing end user support functions. Must have experience in tracking issues, schedule and performance progress. Must be able to identify and mitigate risks.
- Experience creating Quick Reference Guides, Job Aides, and other training material
- Ability to work with limited supervision. Strong verbal and written communication skills to include reports and visualizations to support analysis, reporting, and briefings.
- Industry knowledge and/or U.S. Government security controls and best practices.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting a federal client.
- Experience with PowerApps, and Power Automate, Power BI.
Clearance requirements:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance.
- Must be US Citizen or Green Card holder.
