What You’ll Be Doing:
We are looking for a Process Safety Engineer to join our Product Reliability, Safety, and Certification group to develop and improve process safety and risk management programs. In this position, you will apply your knowledge of process safety for new systems involving chemical reactors, combustion devices, and fuel cells.
- Lead in the development, implementation, review and sustainability of engineering standards and technical guidelines associated with process safety management (PSM) and risk management program (RMP)
- Provide PSM/RMP compliance auditing
- Responsible for leadership and consultation to conduct PHAs and PHA revalidation's, including HAZOP/LOPA studies and produce reporting documentation
- Develop safety requirements specification (SRS) and safety instrumented system (SIS) documentation for Amogy’s powerpack modules
- Analyze and review engineering deliverables and documentation to ensure consistency with SRS
- Perform functional safety assessments (FSAs)
- Develop test plans, and perform testing to ensure that the safety system functions as designed and meets performance and reliability requirements
- Provide information and guidance to project and design teams regarding process safety requirements
- Provide interpretation of industry and engineering standards related to process safety
- Create and maintain effective internal and external process safety networks
Requirements
The minimum requirements we seek:
- A bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of process safety principles.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards related to functional safety, chemical processes, burner management systems, and power generation and distribution such as NFPA, API, IEC, and ISA.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and agile work environment.
- Experience in meticulously maintaining detailed records and showcasing exceptional organizational skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in the green energy sector at another company, Department of Energy experience, and Appropriations Committee
- Advanced Degree - JD, M.S. Public Policy preferred
- Background in the energy or chemical sectors preferred
