Full Job Description
As a part of the Quiddity internship program, your work will make a difference. Our interns have the opportunity to assist with the design and management of a variety of civil engineering projects. As part of our team, you will learn leadership skills from experienced engineers who will provide both mentorship and guidance. You will be challenged daily and have the opportunity to demonstrate your potential and apply your skills to real-world design work.
Responsibilities:
- Help manage the construction implementation process for projects from start to final closeout.
- Periodically observe construction work in-progress at job sites.
- Gain knowledge of contracts, schedules, drawings, estimates and specifications to ensure relation and compliance to project requirements.
- Obtain, maintain, and manage data, information, communications, and approvals required by the project and company between engineers, owner’s contractors/subcontractors, or other project related entities.
- Help coordinate, direct and monitor the activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, and related performing entities.
- Assist in project meetings to include documentation, administration and tracking of relevant information and statuses.
- Help manage construction to ensure the project is in accordance with the design, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, governmental representatives, etc.
- Help maintain official project log and documentation files.
- Assist in obtaining signatures for contracts, processing pay estimates and change orders, coordinating inspections and pre-construction meetings.
- Simultaneously assist multiple projects and clients; estimate workload to establish completion dates.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Construction Management or Civil Engineering bachelor’s or master’s degree program: other ABET qualified programs may be considered.
- At least 2 years completed towards degree.
- AutoCAD skills or similar design program skills a plus.
