About the Role
As an Associate Attorney in the Construction group, you will work closely with a team of experienced professionals, navigating both transactional and litigation aspects of construction law. This role is ideal for a motivated attorney eager to handle complex projects, collaborate with industry-leading clients, and build a lasting career in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Represent clients in litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution settings involving complex construction disputes.
- Advise clients on construction transactions, including contract negotiation, risk assessment, and project planning.
- Collaborate with peers in a collegial environment, tackling high-stakes legal challenges in construction law.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- Education: JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
- Licensure: Active Tennessee Bar admission.
- Experience:
- 1–4 years of substantive experience in construction law, focusing on both transactional and litigation matters.
- Demonstrated ability to represent owners and developers in disputes such as delay claims, liens, compensation conflicts, and quality-of-work issues.
- Expertise in handling construction transactions, from project planning and design to negotiation and execution.
- Preferred Skills:
- Prior construction industry experience is advantageous.
- Courtroom and deposition experience is a plus.
- Superior legal writing and drafting skills.
