Full Job Description
On behalf of our client, a leader in the commercial construction industry, we are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Commercial Superintendent to manage and oversee commercial construction projects from start to finish. This role requires a hands-on leader who can ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight:
- Lead all on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety protocols.
- Monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion of milestones and deliverables.
Team Leadership:
- Manage subcontractors and on-site crews, ensuring quality standards and productivity are maintained.
- Host daily on-site meetings to communicate progress, address issues, and assign tasks.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct inspections to verify that all work meets company and client expectations.
- Proactively address and resolve construction defects or challenges.
Safety Compliance:
- Enforce strict adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- Organize regular safety meetings and site inspections to mitigate risks.
Collaboration:
- Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, architects, engineers, and vendors.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to handle changes, RFIs, and scope adjustments effectively.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and detailed daily logs, site reports, and progress documentation.
- Track and report on materials, labor, and equipment costs to ensure budget compliance.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
- Expertise in construction methods, processes, and project management.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical project documents.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a solutions-driven mindset.
- Familiarity with project management software and modern construction tools.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 30 Certification or equivalent safety training.
- Experience with large-scale commercial projects such as office buildings, retail spaces, or industrial facilities.
- A strong network of subcontractors and industry connections.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate construction sites, including climbing ladders and scaffolding.
