This role will support the management of a team.
Typical Responsibilities Include:
- Managing a team of up to eight validation engineers of varying levels:
- Ensuring team is properly trained and motivated
- Managing employee issues as necessary o Ensuring that team is equipped with what they need to meet their objectives
- Managing employee performance, communication and planning
- Attending leadership meetings and provide accurate status updates on team and associated projects. Submitting status reports as required to Service Line Director
- Manage the Performance and Development Review and Planning for employees on their team. Working with employees to complete the associated review form and conduct the reviews
- Recruiting, interviewing and direct hiring decisions for new employees (this includes both FTE’s and contractors)
- Ensuring team members are aware of and in compliance with company policies and procedures
- Assisting the Director and/or Vice President in development of organizational strategies and department improvements
- Enhancing and expanding the capabilities and marketability of the Service Line
- Playing direct role in sales of services to existing (house) client(s). Identification of new and existing client business leads. Directly present Verista services to support business expansion
- Generating proposals for new or expanded client project work
- Tracking existing project status and funding – identify possible project issues and mitigate them. Identify when projects and / or funding are nearing completion and initiate process of lining up next engagement for the internal resource on their team if project will end
- Maintaining billable role on projects
- Providing project management activities for projects – including the management of metrics and KPI’s as required for account management reporting
- Performing internal quality reviews of deliverables prior to submission to clients
- Mitigating project issues
- Providing technical expertise to members of their team as needed for projects
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required
• Project management with proven ability to create achievable project plans using state-of-the art project management tools, including Microsoft Project.
• Intermediate proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint o Word (work with large documents containing tables, TOC, styles, track changes) o Excel (create, modify charts, filter data, use of functions within multiple worksheets) o MS Project (schedule creation, milestone tracking and management, and assignment of resources)
• Minimum 5 years of related pharmaceutical work experience
- Life Sciences industry experience.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
- · Flexible during times of change.
- Can conform and swiftly adjusts to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Manages complex issues and risks and troubleshoots them as they arise. This role will regularly interface with all levels of the organization and with external vendor
