We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree in Accounting (2-year degree minimum) and at least 5 years of experience in accounting, particularly within accounts payable functions. In this role, you will take the lead on various AP processes, work with vendors and internal teams, and support multiple accounting functions while managing deadlines and ensuring accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable: Receive inventory invoices/receipts and enter them for processing. Match invoices to vendor statements for accuracy and proper coding.
- Employee Savings Program: Lead bi-weekly payroll additions, prepare disbursement checks, and send quarterly statements via email.
- 1099 Process: Oversee the preparation of 1099 forms, including Interest Income (INT), Rents (MISC), and Non-Employee Compensation (NEC).
- Payroll: Prepare bi-weekly payroll journal entries for manager review and posting.
- Filing & Organization: Perform regular AP filing of invoices and payments for assigned locations. Assist with the data entry of physical inventory counts during June and December.
- Email Management: Monitor and manage the AP email inbox, ensuring timely responses and actions.
- Team Collaboration: Support and cross-train with other members of the accounting team. Perform other tasks as requested by management.
- Process Improvement: Assist with ongoing efforts to improve accounting processes and increase efficiency.
- Location Management: Oversee AP tasks for locations 21, 22, 23, and 24.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Accounting or related field (2-year degree minimum).
- At least 5 years of experience in accounts payable or an accounting-related role.
- Strong experience with monotonous data entry, repetitive tasks, and maintaining accuracy.
- Excellent professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring data integrity.
- Proven ability to manage deadlines, work independently, and demonstrate effective time management.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes.
