We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager with a strong background in mechanical contracting, particularly in HVAC and refrigeration systems. This role will oversee multiple projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
This position will be a hybrid position with time split between time in the office and time in the field making site visits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.
- Oversee all phases of project execution, from design and procurement to installation and commissioning.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, motivate, and manage project teams, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement within the project team.
- Client Relations:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
- Present project proposals, updates, and final reports to clients and stakeholders.
- Budget and Financial Management:
- Monitor project budgets, control costs, and ensure profitability while maintaining project quality.
- Negotiate change orders and manage financial aspects with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Quality and Compliance:
- Ensure all projects comply with industry standards, local regulations, and company policies.
- Implement quality control measures and resolve any issues promptly to maintain project timelines.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Innovation and Improvement:
- Stay abreast of the latest technologies and methodologies in HVAC and refrigeration to propose innovative solutions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the project management framework.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in project management within the HVAC, refrigeration, or a similar mechanical contracting field.
- Certifications: PMP or similar project management certification is appreciated but not required
- Skills:
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client and team management.
- Ability to utilize project management software (specifically ClickUp and Service Titan).
- Knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems, including design, installation, and maintenance.
- Equipment start-up ability a huge plus
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and energy codes
- Ability to imbue trust in relationships with our clients and team members through regular communication
- Teachability: a passion for learning more about the trade
- Must be willing to teach or train
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to read blueprints
- Understanding of electrical circuits and controls
- Experience with g-suite preferred
- Familiarity with geothermal systems a plus
- Other Requirements
- This position may involve mid-week overnight travel on occasion
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must pass a mechanical aptitude test
