Full Job Description
Sigma Defense's Transport Network Services (TNS) team is seeking a charismatic Senior Network Engineer to join the mission. This engineer should have the ability to provide occasional 24/7 on-call support for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), Transport Enterprise in conjunction with the Special Operations Command (SOCOM) Program of Record.
The Senior Network engineer will be responsible for developing, engineering, and testing network configurations, systems-monitoring, routine preventative maintenance, and site upgrades and integrations at customer locations. The engineer will provide detailed technical documentation including network diagrams, process flow charts, and procedural guidelines. They will configure, manage, and evaluate multi-protocol network elements for effective end-to-end communications.
The engineer will be responsible for generating test plans and instructions, collect and record test data, identify any failed test parameters and provide life cycle management of Government provided Cisco devices. This engineer will be required to travel to locations around the world for installation and upgrades of customer communications sites. Travel will be no longer than 45 days per visit, but engineer can visit multiple locations in a year. They will be part of a team of Senior Engineers supporting a worldwide architecture of customer focused equipment.

Requirements
- 10 - 15 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to travel worldwide and to some austere environments (travel will be no longer than 2 months at a time; multiple trips possible in a calendar year).
- Demonstrated proficiency in layer 2 switching and layer 3 routing; designing of complex routing and switching schemes to support changing environments.
- Deep understanding of and hands on experience with Cisco IOS, Cisco Firewalls, and networking technologies is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in EIGRP,OSPF, STP, VTP, ACLs, and Layer 3 tunnels with understanding how to monitor network devices to perform fault and root cause analysis.
- Experience with Cisco, switches, routers, cryptographic devices, VPN, and VPN client.
- Experience with supporting IP services to connect to NIPRNET/SIPRNET (IPv4, VPN, IPv6, Multicast, BGP, etc.).
- Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues, and provide solutions.
- Experience with security documentation and accreditation life cycles is preferred.
- Understanding and working knowledge of BGP is preferred.

- Strong organization, facilitation, and time management skills.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks while effectively prioritizing and executing against various responsibilities.
Mandatory Certifications:
- DoD IAT 8570 (CCNA/CCNP Sect+).
Personnel Clearance Level:
- Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance with the ability to qualify for a Top Secret security clearance.
- A clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology or related field of study.
Essential Job Duties (not all inclusive):
- Designs, develops, implements, and fields networking environment by designing system configuration; participating in and overseeing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
- Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments.
- Perform equipment operational tests in accordance with existing test plans and instructions, collect and record completed test data, and identify/report findings of any failed test parameters.
- Configuration and interconnectivity testing of Cisco firewalls, switches, and routers.
- Configuration and testing of encryption devices as it pertains to inclusion in network upgrades.
- Deploying to install configured equipment in various worldwide locations.
- Troubleshooting and back-side support of deployed personnel and associated equipment.
- Perform site surveys at all deployed locations.
- Managing documentation by finalizing all checklists and diagrams for customer evaluation and approval.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $150,000 annually.
