Essential Job Duties:
- Perform a variety of CT, MR, Dexa and X-ray imaging procedures and functions that require independent judgment and ingenuity with minimal supervision, on members/patients of all age groups.
- Prepare and position patients accurately for specific examinations, observing different and special requirements for each protocol, ensuring proper documentation.
- Assume responsibilities for designated areas of Xray, Mammography and Dexa, producing high-quality technical images and reviewing completed exams for quality and completeness.
- Troubleshoot departmental technical issues according to correct procedural guidelines.
- Practice and employ ALARA principles for all patients and Members.
Requirements
- Must be proficient and registered/certified in MRI (primary), and CT.
- High school diploma plus a degree from a 2 year AMA approved Radiology school.
- ARRT registration and NY State Radiologic Technology license.
- NYS DOH Certification for Injection preferred
- Ensure all QC sheets are completed accurately
- Review schedule for any gaps in coverage
- Perform MRI procedures at a tech level in accordance with protocols.
- Maintain proper quality control procedures.
- Must have knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to MRI exams and equipment.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
- Knowledge of concepts, standards, procedures and equipment.
