The Opportunity
The IT Manager is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the daily activities of the IT team. XR IT Managers have a need to be hands-on to understand the tech stack and be able to effectively direct the team. The IT Manager should have had a solid exposure in supporting multiple IT systems and cloud infrastructure. This role is primarily internal facing, with a focus on providing timely support in our New York office + remote offices as well as managing the IT team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT professionals, providing guidance and support in daily operations, troubleshooting, and technical projects.
- Work closely with senior management to define IT strategy, planning, and resource allocation in alignment with the company’s goals.
- Provide Tier 1/Tier 2 support of the Extreme Reach Corporate IT environment (regional offices, remote workforce, data center, Amazon AWS EC2), including managing the deployment, monitoring, maintenance upgrade and support of end-user workstations and related software and peripherals, Server devices and related software
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's IT systems, including servers, networks, and cloud services.
- Ensure the configuration, performance, and maintenance of company hardware, software, and network infrastructure are at optimal levels for efficient business processes & operations.
- Ensure that all IT operations comply with relevant laws, industry regulations, and company policies. Maintain accurate documentation for all IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Stay on top of monitoring alerts and be able to support the infrastructure
- Evaluating and implementing new technologies and systems that improve IT infrastructure and support the organization's business goals.
- Manage the day-to-day technology operations, ensuring adherence to defined SLA’s
- Provide support and guidance to the wider IT team on any system related issues
- Manage and triage IT support tickets and related IT team ticket queues
- Maintain adherence to security best practices and help develop and implement ER security policies and procedures.
- Manage aspects of the IT Department financial spend including purchase requests review and approval to ensure expenditures adhere to company policies, as well as budgetary recommendations for IT initiatives
- Lead IT-related projects, such as software migrations, hardware upgrades, and system integrations, ensuring they are completed on time, and within scope.
- Coordinate with other departments, teams and vendors as needed to collect information on issues, and work with the groups to determine best resolution to issues
- Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation as appropriate for IT systems, processes and workflows
- Develop technology resources, providing for data security and control, strategic computing, and disaster recovery
- Stay up to date on the latest technology advances relevant to the IT environment
- Serve in IT On-call rotations supporting infrastructure and services
- Other projects and duties as assigned
*Pursuant to New York City's Pay Transparency Law the pay range for this position is $115,000 - $125,000 plus bonus; base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus 7+ years of experience in a related field
- Experience directly overseeing the day-to-day activities of a team
- Strong problem solving, organization and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members, senior management, and other stakeholders.
- Proven ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 office productivity suite, the M365 Exchange Admin Center + Office 365 apps, and M365 Collaboration tools including Teams and Teams Calling
- Demonstrated expertise in Windows Active Directory support including replication troubleshooting, advanced knowledge building and supporting Group Policies, security groups, and working in a multiple-domain, multiple-trust environment, DNS and DHCP
- Strong working knowledge with Windows Server systems installation, configuration and analysis
- Experience with cloud technologies, especially AWS, EC2, WorkSpaces, VPCs
- Technical proficiency and knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, and systems to effectively manage and troubleshoot issues.
- Experience with NAS storage systems beneficial
