Financial Restructuring Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Finance Associate with four to six years of experience to join the finance practice of a prestigious Am Law 100 firm in New York. This position offers a unique blend of complex finance transactions and exposure to special situations and restructuring matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work on a broad array of complex debt financing transactions, including:
• Acquisition financing, particularly for sponsor-backed companies in the middle market
• Term loan facilities and working capital facilities
• Commitment letters, sponsor grids, unitranche facilities, and intercreditor arrangements
• Represent private credit and opportunistic debt funds, ad hoc lender groups, investment and commercial banks, corporate borrowers, and private equity sponsors
• Collaborate within the financial restructuring practice to manage existing capital structures, new loan originations, and special situations, workout, and in/out-of-court restructuring transactions

Key Qualifications:

• Solid base of experience in leveraged finance, with exposure to a variety of debt financing transactions
• Intellectual curiosity and an interest in expanding expertise to include distressed credit and restructuring matters
• Law firm experience is required, with outstanding academic credentials
• Admission to the New York State Bar

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $310,000 to $390,000 annually, with actual compensation determined based on experience and other relevant factors.
