Empowerment Academy Charter School is hiring one Speech and Language Therapist to work at the Middle and High School (grades 5-10). This is a full-time position and it is an immediate opening for this year and beyond.
Base Salary: $67,000 - $87,000
Position Type: 10-month employee

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in SLP/Communication Disorders
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCCs)
- NJDOE Certificate
- NJ License to practice speech
- Understanding of how to use and implement the CELF-5 and TOLD-5 Test of Language Development for student evaluations
Key Responsibilities:
- Employ assessment techniques and tools, both standardized and functional, to evaluate students with suspected swallowing, speech, and/or language disabilities. When appropriate, serve as a child study team member when a child is referred for such reasons.
- Identify treatment options.
- Provide therapy to students with swallowing, speech, or language disabilities, including but not limited to services identified in a student’s individualized educational program (IEP).
- Consult with teachers, school resource committee members, and parents on strategies for facilitating the generalization of learned speech-language skills to school and outside of school settings.
- Serve as a case manager for all students referred for a suspected voice, articulation, or fluency disorder, and for some students with a suspected language disorder. Coordinate the development, monitoring, and evaluation of the effectiveness of IEPs relating to speech, and the annual review and reevaluation process.
- Complete administrative tasks including documenting information and keeping accurate records of initial evaluations, diagnoses, treatment progress, and any treatment plan notes.
