Arthur Center, a leading Hospital & Health Care organization, is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Clerk to join our team. As a Payroll Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, maintaining payroll records, and assisting with various financial and administrative tasks. Responsibilities
- Process employee timesheets and maintain attendance records
- Calculate wages, and ensure accurate deductions for taxes, benefits, and other payroll-related items
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits to employees
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll-related matters
- Assist in the preparation of payroll reports, summaries, and analyses
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records
- Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure accurate employee information and changes are reflected in the payroll system
- Support the administration of various employee benefits programs
- Stay updated on payroll best practices and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Assist with ad hoc financial and administrative tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing or a related role
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Strong knowledge of payroll principles and processes
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of relevant payroll software systems preferred
- Familiarity with healthcare industry payroll regulations is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Professional certification in Payroll (CPP) preferred
