Sincere is looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails developer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience working with large Ruby on Rails applications. You believe that user interface details really matter, you care about creating structured and maintainable code, and you consider development your craft. Not only will you play a role in building the future of Punchbowl.com, but you will also decide how the engineering team evolves to meet the needs of our company as we grow.
You will:
- Work with a nimble team of seasoned Rails developers
- Design, build, test, and refactor scalable and performant features
- Have the opportunity to own projects, and influence design and architecture
- Review pull requests from team members and provide constructive feedback
- Improve development processes and drive the direction of the product
- Experience first hand how engineering fits together with the other pieces of an organization to create a successful business
You are:
- Passionate and opinionated about creating great products for the web
- Experienced in working with large, customer-facing, Ruby on Rails applications
- Familiar with technologies such as Ruby on Rails, RSpec/MiniTest, Next.JS/React, Sidekiq, Elasticsearch, MySQL/Postgres, Redis, MongoDB, Git, Serverless, and AWS
- Seasoned at writing, documenting, and supporting RESTful APIs
- Comfortable working with and contributing to containerized environments and modern CI/CD pipelines
- Proactive, curious, and collaborative, yet still thrive working independently

PLEASE NOTE: Our team is primarily based in Greater Boston. We will consider applicants who reside anywhere within a 2 hour drive of the city. While this role is remote, we have occasional in-person meetings at the office (every 4-6 weeks typically).
