Role Overview

We are seeking a full-stack software engineer to join our talented team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting on the design and improvement of backend systems and building out the frontend of our web applications. You will be tightly integrated with the product team and will closely with our tech lead and engineering team to ensure seamless integration and deliver valuable features to our customers.

We employ a strong, domain-driven design approach to building our product. You will gain a deep understanding of the world of metals recycling and will support on domain-driven decisions to deliver value to our customers. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated to deliver complex features with autonomy.

You will work on greenfield projects as well as improve and optimize existing systems and applications. We care about code quality and clean abstraction that don't break things as we scale and ship quickly. As we continue to grow, you will contribute to the design of our products with the opportunity to grow into leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, and validating frontend features from initial concept
• Delivering new features and improvements to new/existing customers
• Practicing good code quality with clean abstractions and consistent code patterns
• Working closely with our Product Manager
• Designing, developing, and collaborating on backend systems, models, and algorithms
• Supporting on core data models and algorithms
• Collaborating with frontend and data engineering teams to integrate systems
• Working closely with our Lead Backend Software Engineer
• Participating in code reviews and providing feedback

Requirements

• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms
• Experience developing APIs
• Strong interest to learn about and contribute to the metals recovery domain
• Degree in computer science or similar discipline
• Excitement in joining a seed-stage startup and growing the company
• 1-4 years experience in a similar role (or significant internship experience)
• You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency in C#, Java, or similar language
• Proficiency in TypeScript
• Experience with React
• Practical experience working in the .NET ecosystem (Entity Framework Core, .NET Core, ASP.NET, C#)
• Experience designing/implementing RESTful APIs
• Experience with SQL and database systems (PostgreSQL)
• Background or knowledge in statistics and mathematics
• You have worked at a startup and have experience shipping products at a startup pace
