Resource Innovations is seeking an Energy Efficiency Account Representative to join our growing team in Massachusetts. This position will put you on the front lines of making impactful and sustainable change through the adoption of energy efficient technologies. As an Energy Efficiency Account Representative you will act as a key contact working with contractors, vendors, service providers, and utility customers to build relationships and maximize participation in energy efficiency incentive programs. This role has some similarities to a technical sales position, but targets are measured in participation and energy savings and success is measured in customer satisfaction. Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct outreach, educate and assist customers and contractors so they may effectively participate in and promote utility energy-efficient lighting programs.
- Develop, manage, and strengthen relationships with customers and contractors.
- Develop and execute outreach strategies to recruit new contractors and retain current contractors.
- Deliver sales and program training presentations to provide customers and contractors with an understanding of the value of incentive programs.
- Help contractors identify qualifying projects and associated incentives.
- Support application completion, submission, and follow up.
- Answer program inquiries
- Train and support contractors to use new software tools.
- Be familiar with lighting technology trends, market challenges, and opportunities
- Organize networking and training events for customers and contractors
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years industry experience
- 2+ years of experience in a related field such as professional sales, account management, marketing, business management, customer service or project management
- Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and a personal vehicle to visit contractor and customer sites.
- Must be able to travel locally (mainly day travel).
- Proficient in communicating via various means: face-to-face, phone, text/chat messages, email, online meetings, small group and large group settings.
- Ability to use software solutions to support efforts: Excel tools and spreadsheets, online applications, CRM platforms, PowerPoint, etc.
- A background in construction, lighting, building controls, utility Demand Side Management (DSM), energy efficiency design, or other building-related experience is preferred.
- Able to self-manage in a professional environment and take the initiative to get stuff done or try something new.
- Strong proficiency in developing and delivering formal presentations.
