What You’ll Do
As a Credit Recovery Teacher at Veritas Prep, your primary responsibility will be to support students who are in need of recovering credits to graduate on time. You will implement individualized education plans that focus on assisting students in mastering coursework they have previously struggled with. Your role is crucial in providing a safe and supportive learning environment that encourages resilience, engagement, and academic success.
You will also:
- Design and deliver targeted interventions that address gaps in knowledge and skills, utilizing effective instructional strategies that meet the diverse needs of students.
- Utilize the school’s data-driven approach to monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods to achieve maximum results.
- Create and maintain a positive classroom environment where students feel valued and appreciated.
- Develop strong relationships with students and their families, providing them with the support and resources needed for academic success.
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to enhance the efficacy of the credit recovery program and share best practices.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and engage in reflective practices aimed at improving your teaching techniques.
Requirements
What You’ll Need (Qualifications)
- Passion for education and an unwavering belief that all students can achieve their goals.
- Experience working with at-risk youth or within credit recovery programs preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field.
- Eligible for certification in the state of Massachusetts (preferred, but not required).
- Ability to build rapport with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with an ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Proficient in utilizing technology and data analysis to support student learning.
- Current authorization to work in the United States – a candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment.
