Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine the need for respiratory therapy interventions.
- Administer respiratory treatments and therapies as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Educate patients and their families about respiratory care techniques and device usage.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure integrated care strategies.
- Maintain proper documentation of patient treatments in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in respiratory therapy.
Requirements
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in the state of practice.
- Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current CPR certification and any additional relevant certifications, such as BLS or ACLS.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients effectively.
- Prior experience in a clinical environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to adapt to various healthcare settings and work independently.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and continuing education.
