Full Job Description
The Real Estate Financial Analyst is a critical member of the team, supporting financial analysis for all Cabrera Capital Partners lines of business, including developments, real estate advisory, and other areas as they are created. The analyst will create valuation and cash flow models, conduct in-depth market research, and provide critical risk analysis. The individual will also support the real estate principal(s) and team members on strategy for existing and future development projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform in depth real estate market analysis for a wide range of public and private entities using all accepted and relevant approaches and theories
- Design, understand and employ valuation models for discounted cash flow analysis (Argus and Excel), comparable property sales models, and construction cost models
- Prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations, marketing materials, pitch books and other presentations as needed
- Provide credit analysis/underwriting for new transactions and ensure it is conducted efficiently, and timely within existing policies
- Review real estate industry surveys and benchmarks, economics, and demographic trends
- Provide reports about real estate development funding sources including, TIF, tax credit, economic development, infrastructure, and other available grant programs (i.e. - public, private, philanthropic…)
- Shadow internal and external meetings/presentations to gain an awareness of client profiles and transactions
- Ensure that all client needs are consistently met and strive to exceed client expectations
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, applied mathematics, statistics, engineering, or equivalent quantitative field. Master’s Degree is a big plus
- 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis for real estate
- A fundamental understanding of financial valuation theory, methodologies, and applications
- Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient with modeling discounted cash flows and understanding basic probability and statistical concepts
- Experience with LIHTC Programs is HIGHLY preferred
- Strong understanding of the real estate market dynamics, property types, and investment vehicles
- Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to succinctly express complex ideas verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment; prioritize tasks, and solve critical business issues
- Advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Argus, etc
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, multi-task and work well under pressure
