Full Job Description
WWC Federal is seeking a Senior Government Accountant for a contract within the Department of Defense (DoD) at USTRANSCOM in support of Business Process Reengineering (BPR) for the Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS).
Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Communicate with Government Officials to prepare budgets, track finances, and ensure tax compliance.
- Support and maintain audit strategy for USTRANSCOM To Be processes.
- Brief officials on financial trends and issues that affect their branches of government.
- Create, update, and annually refresh end-to-end process narratives and flowcharts for Business processes as defined in Regulation 5-1 with all key controls and Complementary User Entity Controls (CUECs) identified to comply with SOC 1 reports as the user entity.
- Perform initial risk assessment for each end-to-end business process and related IT environment to create an inventory of all key controls, related risks and all gaps that may exist.
- Review current identified Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) for all internally identified control gaps and NFRs identified by the external auditor from recent audit findings and how those can/will be resolved in the To Be process.
- Perform Internal Audits to comply with tax codes and laws, government accountants often perform financial audits of government agencies and departments.
- Analyze financial records, assess spending and income, and document assets.
- Develop, lead, and conduct workshops, benchmarking, and surveys.
- Facilitate process improvement efforts.
- Manage a team of consultants and analysts.
- Generate papers and documents.
- Assist in developing, analyzing, and promoting the customer’s needs and issues, including the responsiveness of required deliverables.
Expected salary range: $90,000-135,000
This position is contingent on contract award.
Multiple positions may be hired from this announcement.
Work Environment:
- Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
Physical Demands:

Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. (Eligible to pass Federal security clearance process. Please visit the link for FAQs: https://www.dcsa.mil/mc/pv/mbi/gicp/).
- Minimum of 5 years experience in DOD finance, accounting or budget.
- Knowledge of and/or experience with financial systems/Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and/or system implementations (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
- Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
- Professional proficiency in English is required.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree.
- Current, active Secret security clearance.
- CPA or CFA certification.
- Experience applying federal financial regulations to include OMB Circulars (A-11, A-123, A-127, and A-136), Federal Managers’ Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA), and Federal Financial Management Improvement Act (FFMIA).
- Experience working in or supporting USTRANSCOM.
