As a Clinic Coordinator, you will work with Dental Hygienist(s) and Dental Assistant(s) in Delta Dental’s “Grins on the Go” mobile clinic program, which provides free cavity prevention clinics serving children at lower-income schools in Eastern Idaho. The ideal candidate will have the ability to act as a liaison between Delta Dental of Idaho and participating schools, effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders, take ownership of the successful organization and operation of clinics, and inspire teamwork and camaraderie within the team. In addition, candidates should enjoy working with children and be passionate about meeting the needs of underserved populations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist in developing sealant clinic schedules with eligible schools
- Promote clinics and ensure good returns of student permission forms
- Ensure schools are prepared for clinics
- Process paperwork and ensure compliance with clinic procedures
- Organize participant flow and ensure clinics are non-disruptive to schools
- Educate elementary and middle school students on good oral hygiene care
- Assist with care of mobile/portable dental clinic equipment and supplies
- Assist with setting up and dismantling mobile/portable dental clinics
- Monitor and order “giveaway” supplies
- Demonstrate a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, values, code of ethics, and compliance/security standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, accuracy, and quality output.
- Effective communication skills as well as teaching skills appropriate to patient population.
- Willingness and ability to work in a variety of settings as needed (schools, clinics, events).
- Ability to resolve conflict with a positive, proactive approach.
- Commitment to meeting the needs of the underserved and a diverse patient population.
- Ability to travel, including traveling together during the day with a team to work sites.
- Demonstrates initiative and proactive steps to help prepare schools for visits and to reach goals related to students served.
- Strong skills, abilities, and commitment to teamwork, customer service, and dependability.
WORK SCHEDULE
Hours and dates are subject to change.
- 3 days/week (approximately 24 hours), Tues-Thurs during the school year
- 1-2 weeks of overnight travel per school year
- Annual 3-day meeting generally held in July at the Boise office
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Sitting/Standing (alternatively) continuously
- Keyboard Use/Repetitive Hand motion continuously
- Must have the ability to travel during the day to provide clinics, as well as travel 1-2 weeks per year.
- Ability to lift supplies and equipment up to 25 lbs. (up to 50 with assistance)
