Job Description: The Network Administrator will focus on the maintenance, support, and
management of existing network infrastructure. They handle day-to-day operations, user support, and routine troubleshooting, ensuring the network runs smoothly and efficiently.
**THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD**
Responsibilities:
- Network Infrastructure Management: Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot the network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Ensure network reliability and performance by monitoring network traffic, analyzing bandwidth usage, and optimizing network resources.
- Network Security: Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and secure network protocols. Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and mitigate potential threats.
- Configuration and Installation: Install, configure, and manage network devices and components to support organizational requirements. Maintain up-to-date configurations and firmware for all network devices to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Use network monitoring tools to continuously monitor network performance, identify issues, and troubleshoot connectivity problems. Respond promptly to network outages, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to restore service.
- User and Access Management: Manage network user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure secure and appropriate access to network resources. Implement multi-factor authentication (MFA) and other security measures to enhance network security.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, topologies, and procedures. Generate regular reports on network performance, security status, and incident response activities. Document changes to network infrastructure and update network diagrams as necessary.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to IT staff and end-users on network-related issues and best practices. Develop and distribute network usage guidelines and security policies to promote safe and efficient network use.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with the latest network technologies, tools, and best practices. Identify opportunities to improve network performance, security, and efficiency through the adoption of new technologies and methodologies. Conduct proof-of-concept projects to evaluate the potential benefits of new network technologies and solutions.
Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in network administration.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), programming skills (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript), and DevOps practices.
- Information Assurance Technician (IAT), Level II Certification, and relevant cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, and ServiceNow certifications (e.g., Certified System/network Administrator) required.
- Active Secret Clearance required.

The likely salary range for this position is $85,000 - $90,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
