Town Engineer

A partner organization in Portola Valley, California, is seeking a Town Engineer to join its Public Works Department. This role provides the opportunity to contribute to the town's infrastructure while working in a collaborative, community-focused environment. The Town Engineer will oversee three direct reports, manage the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) with a focus on street resurfacing, and be responsible for an annual budget of $1 million. This position also offers a hybrid work opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) with a focus on street resurfacing.
• Oversee an annual budget of $1 million.
• Lead and supervise three direct reports.
• Participate in both office and field work.
• Interface with contractors to ensure the successful completion of projects.
• Provide high-level customer service to engaged residents.
• Act as a responsive, diplomatic, and knowledgeable professional within the community.
• Collaborate with the Executive team and other staff members.
• Foster teamwork and clear communication across departments.
• Support the preservation of the town’s unique character while incorporating modern amenities.
