Full Job Description
We are seeking a technical project manager to oversee projects, rollouts, and initiatives across our product, engineering, IT, security, DevOps, data engineering, data science, and data analytics teams. In this role, you will manage project schedules and timelines, facilitate communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, track costs and budgets, prepare and analyze data, and report progress and key updates. The ideal candidate would have a general technical background, allowing them to not only manage projects, but also actively engage in technical discussions with team members, and assist with certain hands-on tasks, such as system configuration and report generation.

Responsibilities
- Cross-Department Project Management:
- Oversee project timelines, task assignments, milestones, and deliverables across engineering, IT, security, DevOps, data science, data engineering, and analytics teams.
- Create, maintain, and update project schedules, timelines, and Gantt charts to ensure alignment and timely completion.
- Internal and External Communications:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams and third-party vendors, managing communications and ensuring alignment.
- Prepare and deliver regular status updates, performance reports, and risk assessments for stakeholders, including executives and clients.
- Vendor and Third-Party Management:
- Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors, handling scheduling, deliverables, and budgets.
- Negotiate contracts, oversee vendor performance, and ensure third-party compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
- Cost and Budget Tracking:
- Track project expenses and budget adherence, forecasting costs, and reporting on budget health.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and ensure that all projects remain within budget without sacrificing quality.
- Technical Support & System Configuration:
- Assist with simple technical tasks, configurations, or troubleshooting where needed, such as setting up development environments, configuring IT systems, or basic cloud management.
- Collaborate with DevOps and IT teams to maintain project infrastructure, ensuring it supports project needs and aligns with security protocols.
- Risk Management and Issue Resolution:
- Proactively identify and address project risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks that could impact timelines, costs, or deliverables.
- Develop and implement mitigation plans to reduce potential disruptions.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all projects comply with healthcare industry regulations and data security standards (e.g., HIPAA), and with certification requirements (e.g. HITRUST, SOC2, etc.)
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including system configurations, processes, risk logs, and final project reports.
- Data Analytics & Reporting:
- Collaborate with data science and analytics teams to set up dashboards, reporting metrics, and data integrations that support project visibility and stakeholder insights.
- Assist with setting up data pipelines, configuring analytics environments, and integrating data tools as necessary.
Requirements
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field.
- 3+ years of experience in technical project management, preferably within healthcare or a highly regulated industry.
- Certifications in project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master) and/or technical fields (e.g., AWS Certified) a plus.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Familiarity with engineering, IT infrastructure, security principles, DevOps practices, and data science workflows.
- Ability to perform and assist with simple technical tasks, configurations, or troubleshooting across various tech stacks, including cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and basic system administration.
- Project Management Tools:
- Experienced in using project management software (e.g., Jira, Asana, Trello, Monday.com) for task tracking, timelines, and reporting.
- Budgeting and Cost Management:
- Budgeting skills to create, track, and manage project costs, resource allocation, and forecasting.
- Experience negotiating and managing vendor/third-party contracts and budgets.
- Domain Knowledge in Healthcare:
- Understanding of healthcare data compliance regulations (e.g., HIPAA), compliance (e.g. HITRUST, SOC2), and healthcare data interoperability (e.g., HL7, FHIR standards)
- Awareness of security and privacy requirements specific to healthcare data management.
- Communication and Collaboration Skills:
- Excellent communication skills for managing internal communications across diverse technical teams and external communications with vendors and clients.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical and non-technical aspects to stakeholders, including executives, and manage expectations.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
- Strong analytical skills for risk management, cost-benefit analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
- Proven experience in identifying project risks, dependencies, and potential delays and developing proactive mitigation strategies.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment with a collaborative mindset.
