Full Job Description
Candle Media is seeking a quick-witted Senior Systems Administrator in Los Angeles who is sharp at pinpointing technical inefficiencies, and enjoys developing elegant technical solutions… a strategic thinker! This is a hybrid role that demands expertise in storage engineering (NAS), network architecture, and post-production software support.
You will work full-time at our office in Los Angeles, and report to our Head of Information Technology. We are looking for someone to help us streamline our operations!
Key Responsibilities:
- Storage Engineering: manage and optimize our NAS environment, ensuring seamless and efficient data access for our production teams
- Network Architecture: design, implement, and maintain a robust and scalable network infrastructure to support our demanding production workflows
- Post-Production Software Support: provide expert technical assistance to our post-production teams, troubleshooting issues and optimizing software performance
Additional Responsibilities:
- Manage internal network and server inventory: build, configure and upgrade as needed
- Manage users, groups via JumpCloud and Google Workspace
- Be the main technical support contact for Post-Production, resolve tickets in a timely manner
- Automate and find task efficiencies using configuration managers/scripts
- Implement and maintain archival and backup workflow between on-prem and cloud infrastructure
- Occasionally resolve Windows, Mac, Network, WiFi and Printer issues, end-user network issues (File shares, DNS, VPN, printers, etc)
- Ability to move equipment up to 30 pounds
- Regularly document changes and updates and add to IT knowledge base
Requirements
- Proven Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT roles with a strong emphasis on storage, networking, and media production support
- Deep Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of NAS/media storage platforms, network protocols and architecture, and post-production software
- Problem-Solving Skills: A natural problem solver with a passion for finding elegant solutions to complex technical challenges
- Knowledge of ProMax Platform server / OpenDrives / other media storage platforms
- Experience using a Mac deployment/management tool (JumpCloud, Munki, SimpleMDM, etc)
- Experience with support of Adobe Creative Cloud and other media creation platforms
- Fundamental knowledge of Cisco / Arista / Unix CLI, experience with Meraki administration
- Google Workspace administration (GAM tool)
- Understand the OSI model, and advanced comprehension of network/firewall principles (VLAN, VLAN tagging, spanning tree protocol, RADIUS, etc)
- Experience with Atlassian suite of products (Jira, Confluence, Stash) a plus
- Experience with GCP and spinning up/down cloud infrastructure
- Highly organized, proactive and efficient, ability to spot and document recurring issues comfortable communicating with all levels of staff
- Strong attention to detail, manage priorities, work independently, interpersonal skills, ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to think outside the box
Benefits
Competitive Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year.
