Full Job Description

We’re looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic social service professional who's passionate about working with kids. As a resident services aide, you will work closely with clients to conduct assessments, develop care plans, and provide ongoing support and advocacy. You will collaborate with community partners and agencies to coordinate services and referrals, ensuring the holistic well-being of clients.

You’ll also be joining our team at our Irvine location, where you'll be leading after-school Social Emotional Learning (SEL) programming for kids in grades K-12. You'll be the driving force behind creating a positive, fun-filled environment where students and families feel valued and appreciated for who they are. 10 hours a week will be spent gaining hands-on experience working with kids and their families. **This is a hybrid position, working from offices in Irvine, CA**

Requirements

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients' needs and resources 
  • Provide ongoing case management support, including regular check-ins, goal setting, and progress monitoring
  • Assist clients in accessing and navigating community resources and services
  • Advocate for clients' rights and needs within the community
  • Coordinate with community partners and agencies to ensure coordinated and holistic care
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client interactions and service provision
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development activities
  • Create after-school programming designed to increase the academic and social-emotional development of participants.
  • Plan and deliver an evidence-based curriculum aligned with the goals of the after-school program.
  • Participate in professional development.
  • Meet regularly with Program Director and project team.
  • Work collaboratively with resident staff to address the socio-emotional needs of students.
  • Possesses self-motivation, drive, and ability to work independently, especially given the remote nature of the team.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Familiarity with school or after-school programming desired but not required
  • Great communication and organizational skills
  • Firm but kind personality
  • A love for teaching and the ability to build a trusting relationship with students, teachers, and parents

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field
  • Minimum of two years of experience in case management or a related field
  • Experience with enhanced case management models is preferred
  • Experience as a Teacher's Assistant or related field
  • Knowledge of community resources and services in the area
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships with clients
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Cultural competence and sensitivity to the needs of diverse populations
