Clearstory is seeking a senior fullstack software developer to help lead a growth engineering team. You will build out a new software category within the massive trillion dollar commercial construction industry. We have a hands-on culture and expect the same of our developers. You will work in our Walnut Creek, CA office 3 days a week with our development team and optional two days a week to work from home.

About the Role

As a senior developer, you will be working on a fast-paced feature and product enhancement team, reporting to the Head of Growth, to build our customer-facing software. This includes improving UX, onboarding, and tracking usage behavior. This cross-functional team is directly contributing to the growth of our SaaS-based offering and is highly collaborative with other teams in the company. You'll be standing up the growth team at the company, working on projects such as:

  • Delivering meaningful improvements to the user experience to drive customer acquisition, onboarding and optimizing the contractor invitation experience for Product Qualified Leads.
  • Build solutions for tracking and measuring user data to identify patterns related to engagement and churn.
  • Optimize our pricing and packaging including gating features to promote users upgrading from free to paid plans.
  • Implement A/B testing and performance analysis and run experiments to drive rapid learnings
  • Creating new collaboration features to accommodate some of the industry’s largest construction projects

  • An upbeat, positive, and good-to-be-around attitude, with a sense of humor.
  • Commitment to excellence.
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills.
  • Organizational tolerance: able to work with ambiguity and constant change.
  • Genuine passion for customer service.
  • Believes strongly in his/her abilities.

The Company You'll Join

We are a first-of-its-kind, category-defining software that is revolutionizing the commercial construction industry. Clearstory is digitizing and automating the change order process inside the commercial construction industry. Regardless of what financial software a construction company uses internally, they can use us to share costs with the companies they work with.

The construction industry is being transformed fast by technology, but the way companies communicate costs hasn’t evolved in decades and still heavily relies on carbon copy paper, spreadsheets and email to track billions of dollars.

At Clearstory we are changing that and creating a new category  “change order communication,” by intelligently digitizing this age-old process. This leads to an increase in profits, more successful contractor-to-customer relationships, more transparency into a project’s true cost, and less wasted paper!

We are a Series B 100% SaaS company with impressive credentials for a company at our stage.
