Full Job Description
General Summary:
Technicians, under the direction of the Facilities Manager, will complete assignments, work orders, equipment maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and make maintenance recommendations at the Jacobs Music Center as well as The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Equipment maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting of the Facilities department assets and equipment.
- Diagnose malfunctions and defects in equipment.
- Prioritize equipment requests from internal staff and vendors.
- Determine best method to solve/schedule vendors in conjunction with requests within the maintenance program.
- Work with management to provide systems and operational research for the development of increased efficiencies with all aspects of building maintenance and systems operational programs.
- Assist with the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of building systems keeping energy efficiency at the highest level in accordance with schedules.
- Assist with work orders, repairs, inspections and compliance as needed or required. Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Understand the operations of commercial refrigeration systems.
- HVAC background with CMMS systems knowledge preferred.
- Demonstrate and have competency in one or more of the following areas: Refrigeration, HVAC, electricity, fire systems, plumbing, construction, maintenance.
- Grasp electrical and plumbing concepts, operate tools, gauges and other testing equipment for refrigeration systems.
- Able to work both independently and in teams as needed.
- Ability to follow written, oral, electronic instructions and successfully meet time commitments as the member of a team, communicate with management and disseminate resolutions effectively.
- Knowledge of MS Office programs, esp. Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and computerized maintenance management software system required.
- Ability to work effectively with other departments.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an approved, accredited course in electricity, refrigeration, HVAC, or plumbing preferred.
- 2+ years facilities maintenance operations experience preferred.
General Work Requirements:
- Current driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles/equipment as required/needed preferred.
- Available to work weekends, evenings, nights, overtime and holidays as required.
- Ability to sit, lift, carry, stand, kneel or stoop for long periods of time.
- Able to successfully meet and communicate with a wide variety of personalities.
- Able to sit, lift, carry, stand, kneel or stoop for long periods of time.
- Able to pick up and move up to 35 pounds, and up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Full mobility in crowded spaces in both indoor and outdoor venues.
- Able to work in the direct and indirect sun for lengths of time.
- May be subject to exposure to excessive noise, extremes in temperature, humidity or wetness, dust, gas, fumes, or chemicals, and require the use of special visual or auditory protective equipment. May be subject to working with biohazards.
- Able to negotiate stairs and to move freely about the stage and backstage at any time.
- Able to work independently on projects.
- Able to work alone in various areas of a venue.
Benefits
Pay Range:
$22.00-$25.00 per hour
