Clean Power Alliance (CPA) is Southern California’s locally operated not-for-profit default electricity provider for 35 communities within Los Angeles and Ventura counties and the 4th largest electricity provider in the State of California. We provide clean renewable energy at competitive rates to over three million residents and businesses through approximately one million customer accounts.
What You’ll Do
CPA seeks a detail-oriented and highly motivated professional with experience in the evaluation, analysis and management of customer program data to join our team as the Analyst, Customer Programs. This newly created role will support the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative programs for CPA customers. The ideal candidate will help identify solutions and take ownership over cross-team practices to develop tools and streamline operations.
The Analyst, Customer Programs will be responsible for project management for the portfolio lifecycle, including operations, strategy, and planning. This includes providing cross departmental coordination serving as the liaison with other internal teams to identify and streamline tracking and reporting. This role will be responsible for metrics management including definition, standardization, tracking, and reporting of key performance indicators working closely with the Program Managers. Additionally, this role will support research and data collection to inform program development, customer outreach and acquisition, and program improvement.

Who You’ll Work With
The Analyst, Customer Programs will work under the supervision of the Senior Program Manager, Grid Management and Operations, will work closely with the Director, Customer Programs, and collaborate with the other program and operation staff on the Customer Programs team. This role will also work cross- functionally with CPA’s Power Supply, Customer Care, Data and Systems, Load Forecasting, Regulatory Affairs, External Affairs, Strategic Accounts, and Marketing teams.

Duties and responsibilities include:
- Operational Strategy and Planning: Serve as an internal consultant to identify opportunities for process improvement and streamlining of operations, including scoping and building tools to support these activities. Monitor, review, analyze, and interpret program reporting to identify efficiencies for program operations.
- Project Management: Provide ownership and accountability for Customer Programs team-wide processes, including its program portfolio lifecycle in collaboration with the Director, Customer Programs. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand, scope, and implement projects and program improvements.
- Metrics and Data: Lead team efforts to define, track, and report on program metrics both internally and externally. Develop dashboards and reporting tools, in collaboration with other CPA teams, to support these efforts. Utilize CPA’s Customer Relationship Management platform to support program and project tracking.
- Cross-Departmental and Vendor Collaboration: Work with internal teams such as Data and Systems, Customer Care, Regulatory, and Marketing to understand data environment and build out processes required to support reporting. Collaborate with Program Managers and Vendors to ensure consistency and accuracy of data reporting to support these efforts.
- Tools and Templates: Develop tools and templates to support Program Managers in program design and development, program launch and implementation, and program evaluation and improvement activities.
- Other Duties as Assigned.
Qualifications
- Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of work experience within the energy or sustainability sectors. Project management, experience with data tracking and reporting tools, and experience managing complex projects or initiatives is required.
- Experience working with, analyzing, and reporting on large data sets and experience working with a customer relationship management tool (CRM), including developing reports and creation of dashboards is required.
- Direct experience working as an analyst or operations strategy role on or with customer demand side management programs is strongly preferred.
- Specific experience in CCA or utility program/project implementation, knowledge of resiliency and grid management, electrification, and/or local energy procurement preferred.

Work Location
Residing in Southern California is required for this position. This position is eligible for either Hybrid or Remote options. The Hybrid option requires 2-3 assigned days in the Downtown Los Angeles office and includes a transportation allowance. The Remote & Hybrid options require in-person attendance at organization or team-wide events 3 times per year for 3-5 days per event. Full-time staff are required to work during CPA’s office hours Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm PST.

Salary and Benefits
This position is non-exempt and the salary range for this position is $101,181.93 - $145,701.52, with exact compensation to be determined by Clean Power Alliance, dependent on experience. Benefits include health care, a 401(k)-like match program, paid vacation, and sick leave. This is not a civil service position; however, all CPA employees are required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests form, also known as the Form 700.
